What we do and when we do it!

Perfect Day operates in the Poor Knights Islands Marine Reserve. Report time is between 10.30 am and 10.45 am at our dive centre in Tutukākā.

We leave the berth at 11 am and will bring you home generally by 4.15 pm. Bookings are essential, and minimum numbers may apply.

Our season runs from October on-demand, and November until May, and, if you are thinking of joining us in peak season (December till March), it is best to book at least a week or two before to avoid disappointment - especially for larger groups of 4 or more!

Please book! We often have waitlists in our Premier Peak Season - 20th December to 20th January, and most summer public holidays. We'll take your contact details, and if we get any cancellations, we will ring you!

During winter, Dive! Tutukākā runs boats to the Poor Knights Islands every day, pending minimum numbers, so you will always get the chance to visit.

From June to October (unless we hit minimum numbers and trips are booked on demand) trips run at an earlier winter departure time of 8.45-9am departure and 3.30-4pm return - with TWO sites to visit and you can most certainly get out to the Poor Knights with all the activities that you would normally do on the Perfect Day, but it will be a different boat, one run by the mother ship - Dive! Tutukākā. - 279$ per person, lunch is an extra 20$, or you're more than welcome to bring your own.

You still get to the best snorkel sites, the visibility is epic, and we have a resident seal colony that often joins us at the islands during winter!

Maximum numbers

Perfect Day is a 23-metre-long multi-deck boat, with six walk-in hot showers, and a full galley serving yummy buffet-style lunches.

She takes a maximum of 75 people on board but is so roomy, you feel like you are part of an intimate group. We will travel on the big boat if our numbers make it work, and at times we have a more intimate boat we can run that takes just 20.

There are plenty of kayaks and snorkelling equipment for everyone.
